Campaign for a
PLASTIC FREE GUILDFORD
Plastic Free Guildford is a voluntary community group campaigning to make Guildford a plastic-free borough.

We're a group of people who share the same concerns about the growing problem of plastics in our environment. Our aim is to raise awareness across the borough by engaging the council, businesses and individuals to play their part in reducing the amount of plastic we throw away - over 40kg every year for the average household!

Around 8 million pieces of plastic find their way into the oceans every day, which has a devastating impact on marine life and ecosystems. But 99% of plastics are made from fossil fuels, so single-use plastic production is a huge - and unnecessary - contributor to the climate crisis, and within two decades will account for 15% of global emissions!

So whether you're an individual or a business, if you are passionate about plastic pollution, protecting our environment, and tackling the climate emergency, we'd love to have you on board!
